Product Description:
This PCB with 8 layers is made of a high-performance laminate, IT180A, that ensures excellent heat resistance and stable electrical characteristics for applications with a high level of requirement. It is hybrid copper thicknesses design i.e. inner layers have 4oz copper for better current capability and heat dissipation, while outer layers have 2oz copper for a good balance between fine-pitch etching and signal integrity.
The method of POFV (Plating Over Filled Via) is used in this design, wherein vias are filled with the conductive or non-conductive material and then over-plated, producing a smooth, void-free surface that is apt for component placement and multi-layer stacking. Besides, to facilitate mechanical mounting or stable soldering connection to external structures, half planted holes, wherein the hole wall is partially plated, are implemented along the board edges.
Heavy copper inner layers, moderate copper thickness on outer layers, POFF via treatment, half planted hole edge metallization, these features of this PCB make it best-suited for applications like high-power modular power supplies, automotive battery management systems (BMS), industrial motor drives, and other high-reliability, high-current scenarios.

Product Advantages:
High Current-Carrying Capacity: The thick copper layer is the main reason for this advantage. With the help of the thick copper layer, the cross-sectional area of the conductors has been drastically increased, enabling the PCB to carry very high currents of tens or even hundreds of amperes safely without any risk — these are levels way above the capability of normal PCBs (which have a copper thickness of 1oz or approximately 35µm). This is why thick copper PCBs are the standard choice for high-power applications such as power supplies and battery management systems (BMS).
Excellent Heat Dissipation: Copper, by itself, is a good conductor of heat. The thick copper layer doubles as a heat dissipating channel, conducting the Joule heat produced by high currents very quickly and thereby lowering the temperature of the hot spots. For quite a few designs, this may be the one factor that makes it possible to simplify or even discard separate heat sinks.
Superior Mechanical Strength: The thicker copper layer adds to the strength of the substrate, for one, and as a result, the PCB is more immune to bending-like, deforming, and vibration. Apart from this, thick copper also makes it easier for the adhesion of connectors and heavy component pads as a result of which there are no pad liftings or detachments even during high-current switching or thermal cycling.
High Reliability: Plated through-holes (PTH) in thick copper have thicker walls made of copper, which means even better resistance to thermal expansion stress and cracking. Under tough conditions such as high currents, abrupt temperature changes, high humidity, etc., thick copper PCBs stand out with their much longer lifespan and better stability compared to standard PCBs.
