Q: For what kind of component packages does PCBA provide support?
A: PCBA accommodates a wide range of component packages in the industry, running from standard chip resistor and capacitor packages 0402/0603/0805 to semiconductor chip packages QFP/QFN/BGA/CSP. Besides that, it also supports DIP through-hole packages as well as special component packages like connectors, LEDs, and sensors.
Q: What factors lead to the creation of cold solder joints and false solder joints during PCBA production?
A: It mainly hinges on 3 things: not enough melting of the solder paste (due to either lack of adequate temperature or time), over-oxidation of component pins or PCB pads, and poor contact between pins and pads because of mounting misalignment. The issue can be prevented by adjusting soldering parameters and cleaning the components and PCB beforehand.
Q: Approximately, how long can finished PCBA products be stored?
A: Under the storage of environment which is dry, cool, and non-corrosive with the temperature of 15-25℃, the shelf life of finished PCBA products is more than 1 year, and if it’s vacuum-sealed and stored properly, the shelf life can be up to 3 years. Prior to usage, it is necessary to ensure that the components have not been oxidized or deteriorated.
Q: How can functional failures of finished PCBA products be resolved?
A: Troubleshooting involves three stages. First, use AOI/X-Ray inspection to check for cold solder joints or missing solder joints. Second, verify if the components have been damaged, reversed, or are different from the specified model. Third, conduct electrical performance testing to determine the exact fault location (such as power supply, signal path).
Q: In PCBA production, is it possible for customers to just provide components and you only do OEM production?
A: We support two cooperation modes: The first is that customers supply all the components, and we only provide OEM services such as SMT assembly, soldering, and testing; The second is that we offer one-stop services (component purchasing + production + testing). Customers can decide on their own needs, and we can provide factory qualification certificates for the components purchased.
